ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has shown an upward trend during the last few days raising alarm with the district administration, which has once again urged the public to strictly adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
According to official data, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases have witnessed an increase as 30 cases were reported on September 12th and 28 on September 11th, while there were 24 cases on September 10th, 18 on September 9th, 12 on September 8th, 16 on September 7th, and eight on September 8th, in the capital city. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat said in a tweet that the Covid-19 patients were on the rise in Islamabad.
Public gatherings would be discouraged, he said, adding that masks and social distancing would be enforced.
"Everyone is requested to please cooperate. Experts say weather change is having adverse effects on coronavirus control," he said.
Dr Zaeem Zia, District Health Officer (DHO) Islamabad also appealed to the citizens to follow the SOPs, as we see a slight rise in the cases.
