Two KDA officials shot dead in Karachi firing incident

(Karachi) Two government officials were shot dead in a firing incident in Karachi's Civic Centre, media reported.
Police said that the incident occurred on third floor of KDA Land department building where an officer identified as Hafeezul Hassan allegedly opened fire killing KDA Assistant Director Waseem Usmani and Additional Director Waseem Raza.
The officials maintained that after committing the crime, accused Hassan also shot at and injured himself. He has been shifted to local hospital.
They stated that the incident occurred as a result of rifts between the officers. Heavy contingent of police and Rangers has cordoned of the area and started investigations.
Meanwhile, the police have taken statements of other officers and employees who were present on the site when the incident occurred.
Earlier, a policeman was martyred in a gun attack in Baloch Colony. Police said Noman Ali was posted at Madadgar-15 at the Clifton base.
He was riding a motorbike in police uniform and when he reached near his home in Manzoor Colony No. 4, armed motorcyclists opened fire on him and fled.
