Rupee weakens against dollar
- The buying and selling rates of dollar were recorded at Rs 165.8 and Rs 166.5 respectively.
ISLAMABAD: The exchange rate of Pakistani rupee weakened by 08 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs 166.34 as compared to the last closing of Rs166.26.
However, according to Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates of dollar in open market were recorded at Rs 165.8 and Rs 166.5 respectively.
The State Bank of Pakistan reported that in interbank trading, the price of euro depreciated by 14 paisas and closed at Rs 197.43 against the last day’s trading of Rs 197.57.
The Japanese Yen gained one paisa to close at Rs 1.58, whereas an increase of 48 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound which was traded at Rs 214.68 as compared to its last closing of Rs 214.20.
The exchange rates of Saudi Riyal and Emirates Dirham also increased by 02 paisas each to close at Rs 44.34 and Rs 45.28 respectively.
