LAHORE: After opening of educational institutions and marriage halls, sudden surge in Covid-19 positive cases have been witnessed as around 129 positive cases of corona cases were reported across the province during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 97,946.
During the last 24 hours, 9828 tests were conducted taking the tally of tests so far conducted over one million. With recovery of 167 more patients, the total number of recovered patients in Punjab has reached 94693. So far, 2220 deaths have been reported in Punjab.
As per data made available, out of total 97,946 patients so far reported in Punjab, 28334 are of 31 to 45 years, followed by 26053 of age group of 16-30 years, 19228 of 46 to 60 years, 9400 of 61-75 years, 4277 of aged 1 to 15 years and 1677 are above 75 years.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar told a delegation that through the successful smart lockdown policy of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we have controlled Corona in Pakistan but Corona is coming back in the world.
That's why, SOPs should be implemented in universities and schools to prevent the spread of Corona at any cost, he added.
