Pakistan calls for judicial inquiry into extra-judicial killing of three Kashmiris in IoK

  • More than 300 Kashmiris have been extra-judicially killed by the Indian forces in fake 'encounters' and staged 'cordon-and-search' operations in IoK during the past one year, the FO said.

Pakistan has called for a transparent judicial inquiry, under international scrutiny, into the extra-judicial killing of three innocent Kashmiris in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).

On July 18, 25-year-old Imtiyaz Ahmed, 20-year-old Mohammad Ibrar and 16-year-old Abrar Ahmed were martyred by Indian forces in so-called 'cordon and search' operation in Shopian. The three boys had come from Rajouri to work in the apple orchard as laborers.

In a press release on Saturday, the Foreign Office (FO) said that the Indian forces claimed that the three were 'unidentified terrorists'. The statement further said that in order to cover up the cold-blooded murder, the forces buried the bodies in a graveyard marked for foreign terrorists, instead of handing them over to the victims' families.

Pakistan condemns extra-judicial killing of 13 Kashmiris in a day by Indian forces

The Indian occupation Army itself has admitted that the three innocent Kashmiri laborers were killed extra-judicially. On 18 September, the Indian Army in a statement accepted that the powers vested under the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) were exceeded.

"The Indian Army’s statement of 18 September is an acknowledgment that Indian occupation forces are guilty of war crimes in IoK," FO said.

More than 300, Kashmiris have been extra-judicially killed by the Indian forces in fake 'encounters' and staged 'cordon-and-search' operations in IoK during the past one year, the FO said.

No illegal and inhuman Acts such as AFSPA and Public Safety Act can provide impunity against the crimes that are being perpetrated in IoK, the foreign office statement said.

Calling on the international community, Pakistan has said that India should be held accountable for continuing crimes against the Kashmiri people.
