ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet being held Wednesday (Sept 23) would approve transfer of Rs85,011,000 from ongoing fiscal year allocation in the budget of the National Academy of Performing Arts Karachi to the National Heritage and Culture (Division).
Sources said that a summary to this effect had been moved to the ECC meeting scheduled today, and to be chaired by the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
The ECC, in the summary, has been told that as administrative control of the National Academy of Performing Arts Karachi has been given to the National Heritage and Culture (Division), therefore, its funds from fund center KA-7022 should also be transferred to the (NH&C).
As per proposal, the administrative control of the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), Karachi has been transferred to the National Heritage and Culture (NH&C) Division from Inter-Provincial Coordination Division, and budget allocation of the NAPA for the current fiscal year 2020-21 has been allocated under Demand No 102-Inter-Provincial Coordination Division, which required to be placed under Demand No 058-Miscellenous expenditure of the NH&C Division through technical supplementary grant.
The proposal added that the Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division had surrendered the budget allocation of the NAPA amounting to Rs85,011,000, in favour of the National Heritage and Culture Division, and total funds surrendered National Academy of Performing Arts in July 2020.
The Finance Division has no objection to the technical supplementary grant of Rs85,011,000 under miscellaneous expenditure of National Heritage and Culture Division against surrender order of equal amount issued by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination.
The approval of the ECC has been sought by the National Heritage and Culture (Division).
