LONDON: British trade minister Liz Truss said there were serious issues around rule-breaking at the World Trade Organisation, putting the Trans-Pacific Partnership forward as a vehicle that could put pressure on it to reform.

"There are serious issues at the World Trade Organisation in terms of the operation and countries following the rules which needs to be fixed," she said.

"The UK should... work with like-minded allies to create structures that fundamentally challenge the way the WTO is operating and force it to reform, and the primary vehicle for that is the Trans-Pacific Partnership."
