ISLAMABAD: Incidents of armed robberies witnessed an increase in the city as police registered five cases of various kinds of thefts, mostly snatchings at gunpoint, last week.

According to the data gathered by Business Recorder, various police stations of the city registered three cases of murder, three cases of auto theft, and three cases of kidnapping last week.

During the same period, criminal activities were primarily reported from the limits of Koral and Industrial Area police stations.

Koral Police Station registered one case each of murder and snatching.

Muhammad Nazir informed Koral Police Station that Imran and his accomplices allegedly kidnapped his brother, Jahangir, and later killed him in Chakwal.

Unidentified armed people riding a bike snatched cash and a mobile phone from a trader, Ehtisham, in the limits of Koral Police Station.

Armed people also snatched cash from two other shopkeepers.

Muhammad Azhar Ijaz lodged a complaint with the Industrial Area Police Station that three armed people riding a bike snatched Rs1,500,000 cash and mobile phone from him at gunpoint.

The incident took place at I-8 Markaz.

In the same area, on September 23, two armed robbers snatched Rs800,000 and pay orders valuing Rs3 million from Ishtiaq Ahmed, a senior journalist, as he arrived at his residence in Sector I-8/1 after withdrawing money from a private bank in I-8 Markaz.

Syedur Rehman lodged a complaint with Kohsar Police Station that accused, Irfan Ullah and Fakhar Khan, stole property documents, a mobile phone and a licensed pistol from his house.

Sabeeha Bibi lodged a complaint with Ramna Police Station that the accused, Naseem Wali and others, shot her husband Shaukat Ali dead.

Police recovered the body of a Naib Qasid who had been working at the Cabinet Division from Sector G-10 last week.

Last week, auto thieves stole a vehicle in the limits of Aabpara Police Station while Secretariat, Khanna and Shehzad Town police registered one case each of kidnapping.

In the same period, one case of snatching at gunpoint was reported at the Karachi Company Police Station.
