LAHORE: All distribution companies (DISCOs) except Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) have reduced the time duration (hours) of loadshedding in 2018-19 as compared to 2017-18.

According to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) sources, the time duration of loadshedding in QESCO had increased to 7.33 hours in 2018-19 against 5.8 hours in 2017-18. Interestingly, the time duration of loadshedding in QESCO was lower than what has been recorded in 2017-18 and onwards. This duration was 3.875 hours in 2016-17, 2.83 hours in 2015-16 and 3.4 hours in 2014-15.

In case of HESCO, the time duration of loadshedding had increased to 5.5 hours in 2018-19 against 3.75 hours in 2017-18. This duration was 4.5 hours in 2016-17, 3.33 hours in 2015-16 and 4 hours in 2014-15.

Similarly, in case of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 2.16 hours in 2018-19 against 3.125 hours in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 3.33 hours in 2016-17, 3.43 hours in 2015-16 and 4 hours in 2014-15.

In case of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 1.55 hours in 2018-19 against 3.25 hours in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 3.2 hours in 2016-17, 2.3 hours in 2015-16 and 2.5 hours in 2014-15.

In case of Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO), the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 0.5 hours in 2018-19 against 11 hours in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 3.25 hours in 2016-17, 4 hours in 2015-16 and 4 hours in 2014-15.

In case of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 0.32 hours in 2018-19 against 0.74 in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 3.23 hours in 2016-17, 3.5 hours in 2015-16 and 4.33 hours in 2014-15.

In case of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 2.4 hours in 2018-19 against 1.7 in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 2 hours in 2016-17, 1.67 hours in 2015-16 and 2.33 hours in 2014-15.

In case of Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 0.43 hours in 2018-19 against 1.30 in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 3.35 hours in 2016-17, 3.2 hours in 2015-16 and 4.25 hours in 2014-15.

In case of Sukkur Electric Power (SEPCO), the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 2.25 hours in 2018-19 against 2.25 in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 2.25 hours in 2016-17, 1 hour in 2015-16 and 1 hour in 2014-15.

In case of K-Electric, the time duration of loadshedding had decreased to 1.77 hours in 2018-19 against 1.26 in 2017-18. This duration of loadshedding was 2.5 hours in 2016-17, 1.33 hours in 2015-16 and 1.1 hours in 2014-15.
