Jawad Zafar appointed PIA's COO

  • According to the PIA spokesperson, the post of Chief Operating Officer had become vacant after the resignation of Ijaz Mazhar, after which Air Commodo Jawad Zafar has been appointed.

Air Commodore Jawad Zafar has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Pakistan International Airline (PIA).

According to the PIA spokesperson, the post of Chief Operating Officer had become vacant after the resignation of Ijaz Mazhar, after which Air Commodo Jawad Zafar has been appointed.

According to PIA spokesperson, on completion of deputation of Air Vice Marshal Noor Abbas, Amir Hayat has been appointed as CEO PIA's advisor.

Last week, the national carrier dismissed its 28 employees over misconduct and their involvement in heinous crimes in Sep 2020. According to the airline, seven employees were dismissed over fake degrees while eight were terminated over prolonged unauthorized absence.

Similarly, two of them were fired over sabotaging company property while the rest of them were found guilty in several heinous crimes including corruption, immoral act of omission, indulgence in alcohol / narcotics, destruction of official record, smuggling, etc.
