Ichra terrorist incident: 'bodies of police cadets sent to KP with full honours'

The Punjab government had sent bodies of cadets who were killed in a terrorist attack in Lahore with full honour to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said on Friday. "There is no delay or laxity in this regard."
Addressing a press conference here, Rana Sanaullah said that immediately after receiving a report about the incident of terrorism in Ichra, a team of Rescue 1122 officials arrived at the spot and shifted the bodies and the injured to a hospital. He also said though there had been some delay because of determining the complainant in the FIR, but as soon as the reply of the DG of the National Police Academy had been received, the report was registered at Samanabad police station and post-mortem examination was carried out.
According to him, the process was monitored by the Punjab government at the highest level and the Punjab Chief Minister remained in constant touch so that there was no complaint in this regard.
The National Prisons Academy, the minister said, was a federal institution, which operated under the Interior Ministry.
"This institution rented a two-storeyed house in the Rasool Park in 2004-05 for the stay of its cadets. The institution never contacted the Punjab government regarding security of these cadets. All security institutions are responsible for their own safety, however the Punjab government is not oblivious to its obligations in this regard," he said.
