The decision came as the Hungarian forint outperformed its central European peers on Thursday as headline inflation slowed more than expected in September.
The bank will use its one-week deposit rate to combat inflation risks stemming from volatile global sentiment, Deputy Governor Barnabas Virag told Reuters last week.
