According to a survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan, 78 percent want former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to return back to Pakistan and face the justice system.

The former PM is in London since last year after the Islamabad High Court granted him bail in the Al-Azizia case and allowed him to travel abroad for treatment. The court allowed him bail on medical grounds for eight weeks.

However, it has been almost a year and the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz leader has yet to return, despite many summons from the Supreme Court.

In its survey, Gallup Pakistan asked whether Nawaz should return to the country or not. 78 percent of respondents want Nawaz to return back to Pakistan and face the court. Only 15 percent agreed that he should stay out of Pakistan.

In another question, the people were asked whether they agreed with the recent speeches made by the former PM. Among the 20 million men and women above the age of 18 who heard the speech, 33 percent agreed with the general point of view taken by Nawaz, a larger 39 percent said they disagreed. Whereas, 24 percent said they neither agreed nor disagreed.

A majority 47 percent also agreed with Nawaz's accusation that PM Imran Khan has destroyed Pakistan's economy.
