LAHORE: Pakistan Railways on Friday arranged a consultative sitting with the stakeholders to increase the number of passenger coaches and freight wagons keeping in view the expected increased activity due to Pak-Afghan trade and ML-1. Secretary/Chairman Railways Habibur Rehman Gillani chaired the meeting who said that the seminar has been arranged to discuss increasing rolling stock both for passenger and freight traffic.

He said that first time ever railways had given the status of stakeholders to its private partners and would listen to advice and reservations. He said that the railways would provide equal opportunities to all the partners but safeguarding the interest of railways, protection of passengers and their interests would be the first priority.
