How ironic it is that the prices of wheat flour are soaring despite import of a large quantity of wheat from abroad. According to media reports, wheat flour prices have surged to as high as Rs75 per kilogram. Hoarding is believed to be the main reason behind the rise in wheat flour prices.

The government seems to have failed against the machinations of hoarders. It must take some bold steps aimed at curbing hoarding in a big way. The incumbent government must not lose sight of the fact that ever since PTI came to power in 2018 the prices of wheat have soared by over 60 percent.
