ISLAMABAD: In spite of heavy security arrangements in the federal Capital, the incidents of robbery, burglary, snatching at gun point, and motor vehicle theft have witnessed an increase during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, the city's various police stations registered over 14 cases of different kinds of theft including robbery, dacoity, and snatching at gunpoint; nine cases of carjacking, two cases of murder, and two cases of kidnapping, during the period.
In the same period, majority of cases were reported within the limits of Industrial Area, Koral, Shehazad Town, Sabzi Mandi, Aabpara, Kohsar, and Golra police stations. During the last week, Golra Police Station registered one case each of auto theft and robbery.
Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number IMK-796 belonging to Muhammad Arif worth Rs 50,000. Another Zafar Iqbal registered a complaint with Golra Police Station that Hasnat and Manazir had allegedly stole a solar panel and generator worth Rs 400,000 from his house.
Similarly, one case each of robbery and dacoity were reported to Shehzad Town police station during the last week. Muhammad Nazir informed Shehzad Town police that the accused, Ahmed Ullah Khan Zada, broke locks of his shop, and stole cash Rs 57,000.
Another, Muhammad Saeek Akbar lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town Police Station that unidentified accused stole jewellery and mobile phone worth Rs 700,000. During the last week, Aabpara Police Station registered one case of dacoity, and a case of snatching.
Mujeeb Rehman informed Aabpara Police Station that three unidentified armed persons entered his shop and snatched cash Rs 400,000 at gunpoint. Zaheer Abbas lodged a complaint with Aabpara Police Station that 41 unidentified persons beat Sabir Hussain and Chan, and snatched Rs 300,000.
Sabzi Mandi Police Station registered one case of car theft, and a case of robbery, during the last week. Motor vehicle thieves stole a bike bearing registration number SGL-700 belonging to Muhammad Arshad worth Rs 80,000.
Waqas Ahmed registered a complaint with Sabzi Mandi Police Station that unidentified robbers broke into is house, and stole gold ornament worth Rs 50,000. In the same period, Bhara Kahu Police Station registered one case each of murder and kidnapping.
Shabeer Ahmed lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu Police Station that his daughter was allegedly killed by her husband, Bilal along with his sister and mother. Another Adeel Ahmed informed Bhara Kahu Police Station that unidentified people kidnapped Abdullah.
Auto thieves stole a bike AVN-515 belonging to Saqib Sultan worth Rs 75,000, and stole another bike belonging to Moenudin from the limits of Koral Police Station, while Kohar Police Station also registered two cases of carjacking, during last week.
In the same period, Bani Gala and Industrial Area police stations registered one case each of auto theft, while, one case each of robbery was registered at Margalla, Ramna, Tarnol, Bani Gala, Lohi Bher, Khanna, and Shams Colony stations.
