ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday said that the world was no longer "blindly" buying Indian narrative aimed at presenting the Kashmiris' struggle for right of self-determination as "terrorism".
Talking to media persons after inauguration of the new media centre at the Foreign Office, the Foreign minister said that it was made possible due to Pakistan's successful efforts to counter India's negative perceptions.
He said that due to the proactive role of the Foreign Office, Pakistan's narrative on Kashmir was being acknowledged at the international level including the European Parliament, and the foreign media.
"Now the international community and the global media are not ready to blindly buy the Indian narrative," he said, adding that it was because of this role, "now Pakistan is being viewed as part of the solution, not the problem".
He asserted that the entire world was recognising the positive role of Pakistan being played in Afghan peace process. Talking about the role of media in image building of the country, he said that media had a pivotal role in the modern diplomacy, adding that it was not possible without a robust engagement with the media to tell the world about Pakistan's counterterrorism operations, and the worst situations in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
