KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Ifitikhar Ali Shallwani on Wednesday directed sub-ordinates to complete renovation work at Al-Markaz-e-Islami in Ayesha Manzil at the earliest.
He said ten computers and internet facility would also be provided immediately to the city library established at Al-Markaz-e-Islami so that students could get benefit.
The establishment of auditorium would give people of District Central the opportunities of holding educational and religious events.
Artist Corners would also be established at parks in Karachi where painters, calligraphers and other artists would present their art.
This facility is being started from Sir Syed Park on Sunday.
The Administrator passed these remarks during his visit to Markaz-e-Islami. Director General Parks Taha Saleem, Senior Director Sports and Culture Syed Khurshhed Shah, Director Culture Shams Masoodi and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Shallwani said that 41 “Tughray” inscribed with Surah Rehman made by famous calligrapher Sadiquan on marble have also been installed in Al-Markaz-e-Islami. He said that exhibition will be held at city library where calligraphers would be showcasing their art.
The Administrator said that in the past Al-Markaz-e-Islami was being used as marriage hall but now it had been restored to its original position. He said the auditorium is 750 seated and 80 per cent of its construction is completed. “Chairs and air conditioners are being installed in the auditorium,” he added.
Shallwani said that two schemes are included for Al-Markaz-e-Islami in the Annual Development Programme and it would be provided more facilities. He said that private art galleries are very expensive that the artists cannot afford to pay the rent for exhibition of their art as well as common man cannot go there that’s why Karachi Metropolitan Corporation would provide all artists to avail the gallery for exhibition.
The Administrator also directed Parks Director General for planting bougainvillea around Al-Markaz-e-Islami and other buildings and roads of the city, adding that bougainvillea does not need much water to grow up nor it required specific environment.
