Three different petitions have been filed in Lahore registry of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, challenging Contempt of Court Act (CCA) 2012 here on Saturday. These identical petitions were filed by Watan Party Chairman Barrister Zafarullah and two bar members AK Dogar and Azhar Siddique.
The petitioners contended that the main objective of this fresh legislation was to make the contempt of case ineffective against the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. The petitioners requested to strike down the contempt of court Act, 2012.
