ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Secretary General, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, has said that because the "coward selected" PTI government did not respond to the request for public meeting in Gujranwala Stadium on October 16th, the congregation will now be held on GT Road, Gujranwala.

Speaking at a press conference following a meeting of the PDM leaders here on Thursday, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the government's panic over one public meeting has exposed its reality.

He said that an application requesting permission to hold the congregation in the Gujranwala stadium was submitted to the relevant authority on October 3rd but it has still not been responded to.

He said the "selected" PTI regime knows its public worth, which was why it was resorting to tactics to sabotage the PDM's public meeting.

Abbasi said blocking roads with containers, raiding corner meetings, arresting PDM workers across Punjab, harassing PDM supporters and workers won't deter the spirits of the masses who have decided to rid the country from this "disastrous" government.

He said the PDM has a constitutional right to hold a public meeting which is being denied by this government.

He said people are starving and struggling to feed their families because of the unprecedented inflation and unemployment created by this government which is the "most corrupt" government in the history of Pakistan.

The former prime minister told the district administration, the DC Gujranwala, Police Chief Gujranwala and other civil administrative officials that they have no obligation to the PTI as they do not serve the PTI.

He said the administration officials should remember that they serve the constitution of Pakistan and all actions to prevent exercising of the PDM's constitutional rights will lead to disciplinary and legal action against them.

Abbasi urged them not to become an instrument of the "selected" government's political victimisation and violation of the constitution.

Abbasi said no amount of threats, harassment or containers could stop the massive flood of Pakistanis that would participate in the October 16th public meeting.
