ISLAMABAD: The protesting lady health workers (LHWs) continued their sit-in at D-Chowk on Saturday, and decided to call more health workers to move towards the Parliament House on next Monday, to press the government for fulfilment of their demands.
The protesting lady health workers from the different parts of the country continued their sit-in for the fourth consecutive day at D-Chowk against low salaries, for pay structure, and scale. The protesters, who have spent three nights in open sky, vowed to continue their sit-in till acceptance of their demands. The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands.
Heavy contingent of police and Rangers were deployed on the occasion in order to avert any untoward incident.
National Programme Health Employees Federation President Rukhsana Akhtar said that they had announced on Friday last that they would move towards the Parliament House on Saturday but the plan to move ahead was postponed as Health Secretary Punjab Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti called them for talks regarding their demands.
