Pakistan Tekhrik-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that his party would lead a peace caravan to Waziristan in September and would bring the relatives of innocent families, whose loved ones lost their lives in the drone attacks.
He claimed that when PTI would come in power, quit the alliance with western powers in war against terrorism, get rid the country of US slavery.
Addressing a protest rally against the reopening of the Nato supply route, unprecedented price hike, load shedding and corruption, PTI Chief said his party's tsunami would reach Islamabad if President Asif Ali Zardari tried to destroy the Supreme Court.
On the occasion, PTI Senior Vice President Shah Mehmood Quershi, Central leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Saiful Khan Niaz, Asad Qaiser, Iftikahar Jhagra and other provincial leaders were present. The rally was started from Hashtnagri to Balahisar with hundreds of party activists and workers.
He said it was utmost duty of the government to protect the life and property of the nation, adding Pakhtuns leaders did nothing for the betterment of Pakhtuns.
He added that Asif Ali Zardari and Asfandyar Wali should indicate that who were being killed in drone attacks, had they identified those killed persons that whether they were Pakistanis or foreign militants.
He further remarked that Asfandyar Wali Khan had promised to his nation that they he would not allow anyone to shed the blood of Pakhtoon but now for the sake of few dollar Asif Ali Zardari and Asfandyar Wali Khan had set a deal in exchange the blood of innocent Pakistanis. He said that apparently Asfandyar Wali condemning the drone attacks but actually they were backing the drone strikes.
PTI Chief said innocent people were being killed in the US-secret drone campaign, adding the people of Waziristan were also Pakistanis and were innocent victims of the US war on terror.
He strongly deplored the US drone strikes in the tribal areas, saying that nation wanted to quit the alliance with western powers in war against terrorism.
Imran Khan said that activist of civil society, media persons and human rights activists would also be included to participate in this march which would definitely identify that either the killed persons were Pakistanis or foreign nationals. "We will raise voice against the unauthorised drone campaign at every fora", he maintained. He criticised that the government had failed to address the key issues confronting the country.
