KARACHI: On Friday, on market close, PKR continued its yesterday's trend by gaining value against USD in both interbank and open markets while also gaining value against other major currencies in the open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, on market close, Pakistan Rupee gained 27 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 161.40 and 161.50 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 50 paisas for both buying and selling over last yesterday's rates closing at 161.50 and 161.80 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR went up by 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 190 and 191.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR went up by 5 paisas for buying and 15 paisas for selling closing at 44.20 and 44.40 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 20 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 42.70 and 42.90 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth versus major currencies including the US dollar and the British pound in the open currency market on Friday.
Amid lack of buyers' interest in the market, the dollar remained under selling pressure for the second consecutive day and ended further lower for buying and selling at Rs 161.50 and Rs 162.50 against the previous closing rate of Rs 162.00 and Rs 163.20 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Similarly, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 209.50 and Rs 211.20 against the Thursday's closing trend of Rs 210.00 and Rs 212.00 respectively, they added.
