LAHORE: The Punjab and the federal government will observe 'Black Day' today (Tuesday) to protest against the longest lockdown in the history of occupied Kashmir.

Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar, provincial ministers, assembly members, government employees and members of civil society would participate in the rally to be held from 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam to Faisal Chowk rally on Tuesday at 9 am. In the evening, a one-minute blackout and torchbearer rallies will be held at the divisional headquarters across the province.

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in a message said that the Modi regime has violated all moral, political and diplomatic laws by revoking the special status of the Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The CM regretted that India has made millions of Kashmiris a hostage of curfew-like restrictions and made it clear that India cannot suppress the freedom passion of Kashmiris through bullets and suppression. The policy of state-sponsored torture has failed in Occupied Kashmir as the Kashmiris' rights cannot be suppressed through the barrel of gun, he added.
