ISLAMABAD: General Hulusi Akar (retired), Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS). During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues of mutual interest including regional stability as well as defence and security cooperation.
The COAS said that both countries shared great history of brotherly relations which was being transformed into enduring partnership. Meanwhile, General Hulusi Akar (retired) also called on General Nadeem Raza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation including measures to enhance the level and scope of military engagements were discussed during the meeting. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the deep-rooted cultural and brotherly relationship between the two countries.
General Hulusi Akar (retired) lauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism. The dignitary commended the role of Pakistan for regional peace and stability, especially the efforts of Pakistan Army in battling the scourge of terrorism.
