Chairman, Awami Tehreek, Ayaz Latif Palejo, on Sunday said that people of Sindh would not allow anybody to divide the province. The meeting was organised by defunct People's Aman Committee and Pakistan Awami Tahreek here on Sunday. Addressing a public meeting at Gabol Park, Lyari, Palejo declared, "We are against the MQM and its policies not the Urdu-speaking people."
He said his party wanted a Pakistan which did not take dictations from the foreigners. Criticising the PPP, Palejo sad Rehman Malik, who had run away after leaving Benazir Bhutto in danger, was appointed Interior Minister. "He also run away when Benazir's home coming rally was bombed at Karsaz but the people of Lyari guarded and rescued Benazir," Palejo recalled.
He condemned the PPP government for deploying 4,000 policemen to stop AT's rally.
Lauding the services of Uzair Baloch for Lyari, he said that Uzair was the man who protected Lyariites. Speaking on the occasion, Uzair Baloch said, "Our fight is with the enemies of Pakistan." A large number of people participated in the rally. The administration had blocked all the roads leading to Red Zone to restrain the participants of the rally from marching towards Governor and Chief Minister's houses. Containers were placed at all the entry points of Red Zone.
