KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 66,537 tonnes of cargo comprising 48,086 tonnes of import cargo and 18,451 tonnes of export cargo including 3,327 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargos of 48,086 tonnes comprised of 12,026 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,329 tonnes of sugar; 7,672 tonnes of DAP and 19,417 tonnes of wheat and 1,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 18,451 tonnes comprised of 17,651 tonnes of containerised cargo and 800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,327 containers comprising of 974 containers import and 2,353 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 284 of 20's and 342 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 03 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 315 of 20's and 243 of 40's loaded containers while 116 of 20's and 718 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Botany Bay, Esperanza-N, Stolt Spruce, Cion Trader, Deneb Leader and Qing Ping Shan carrying containers, oil tankers, vehicle and clinker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. MOL Grandeur, MT Lahore, Al Mahboobah, Senanur Cebi and Rana carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There is one ship namely MT Lahore carrying containers expected to sail on Wednesday.
There are two vessels viz. Southampton Express and Castor-N carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday while four vessels viz. Marex Express, Ionic Storm, Costas and Marmoratai carrying containers, clinker and general cargo respectively are expected due to arrive on Wednesday.
PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 186,207 tonnes comprising 141,272 tonnes of import cargo and 44,935 tonnes of export cargo including 2,816 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 141,272 tonnes includes 41,000 tonnes of coal; 55,935 tonnes of LNG; 2,470 tonnes of palm oil; 16,800 tonnes of soyabean; 15,512 tonnes of gas oil; 916 tonnes of LPG; 70 tonnes of chemical and 8,569 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 44,935 tonnes includes 44,935 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,816 containers comprising of 451 containers import and 2,365 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were three ships namely MSC Candice, Golar Celsius and Azurito carrying containers, LNG and gas oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday.
A total number of seven ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, chemical, soyabean, LNG and gas oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve vessels viz. MSC Pina, MS Amis Wisdom-III, Indigo Flora, Market Cooper, Star Altair, Sea Brave, Epic Bermuda, Tomson Gas, Gas Zeus, Duhail, Ploutos and Khair Pure carrying containers, steel coil, coal, soyabean, cement, LPG, LNG, mogas and gas oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven ships viz. Maersk Santosa, MSC Pina, Indigo Flora, Market Cooper, Epic Bermuda, Duhail and Leader carrying containers, coal, LPG, LNG and Gas oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were two ships namely Maersk Santosa and Loader carrying containers and mogas due to arrive on Tuesday.
