Govt raise medicine rates for the second time in October

  • According to the notification of the federal government across Punjab, the prices of every medicine went up for the second time in the month of October.

In Punjab, the prices of medicines have increased yet again. For the second time in a month, the federal government has increased the prices of medicines by five to fifty percent.

The price of essentials items are already out of reach of a common man, and with the recent development, the poor are being deprived of medical treatment by making medicines more expensive.

According to the notification of the federal government across Punjab, the prices of every medicine went up for the second time in the month of October. Medical store owners are also surprised by the latest increase in prices.

As per details, the rates of medicines for all diseases, including heart diseases, diabetes, blood pressure, hepatitis, and cancer, are now beyond the reach of the poor.

On October 5, the federal drug price regulator, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) issued a notification to increase the prices by nine to one hundred percent, and now on October 21, the prices of ninety-four drugs have been increased by three to fifty percent.
