ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday extended condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Turkey over the loss of precious lives in an earthquake in Izmir city.
The prime minister tweeted, "My condolences to President Erdogan and the people of Turkey on the loss of precious lives in Izmir earthquake. We stand with the Turkish nation, offering every help we can give. We can never forget the way Turkey stood with us when the devastating earthquake hit Pakistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) in 2005."
Around 20 people were reportedly killed in Turkey after a strong earthquake struck the Aegean Sea on Friday, bringing buildings crashing down and setting off tidal waves which slammed into coastal areas and islands.
