KARACHI: On Thursday, USD fell against PKR in both interbank and open markets on market close. PKR however, fell against Euro in open market while strengthening slightly against SAR.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 35 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 159.40 and 159.50 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 35 paisas for buying and 25 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 159.40 and 159.70 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR fell by one rupee for both buying and selling closing at 186 and 187.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for buying while losing 10 paisas for selling closing at 43.25 and 43.50 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 42.15 and 42.30 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee showed stability on buying side and remained unchanged changed while it lost 10-paisa on selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Thursday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading at its day earlier closing of Rs 159.20 and Rs 159.50 as its buying and selling rate, respectively. The dollar did not observe any change in its buying rate that stayed unchanged at Rs 159.20. However, because of slight increase in the dollar's demand, its rate moved up and closed at Rs 159.60.
The rupee remained under pressure during the entire day's trading and declined against the British pound sterling. The pound's buying and selling rate improved from the overnight closing of Rs 205.50 and Rs 207.00 to Rs 206.25 and Rs 207.90, respectively, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee gained 10 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs159.90(buying) and Rs160(selling) against last rate of Rs160(buying) and Rs160.10(selling).
It closed at Rs159.90(buying) and Rs160(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 113,700(selling) and Rs113,500(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
