ISLAMABAD: Omar Hamid Khan, a BS-22 officer of Secretariat Group, was removed on Thursday from the position of secretary of Ministry of National Food Security & Research. Omar Khalid Khan was asked to report to the 'Establishment Division, with immediate effect and until further orders'.
The unceremonious removal of the top official came hardly weeks after, he - in an obvious reference to the status-quo politicians responsible for rising inflation - told a meeting that "the bureaucracy is not alone responsible for the sky-rocketing inflation in the country".
