LAHORE: The Lahore High Court here on Friday dismissed a petition of the Punjab University seeking release of its land from the illegal occupation of some residents of Behkiwal Lahore.
The court observed that the matter is pending with civil courts therefore the university should approach the concerned court for relief. The university had also filed a contempt petition against the deputy commissioner Lahore for not acting in accordance with the law. A law officer however informed the court that the matter is pending with civil courts and hence the petitioner should approach the original court of jurisdiction. The LHC accordingly dismissed the petition for being not maintainable.
