The Ministry of Commerce will initiate a consultative meeting of the stakeholders in the plastic sector in the coming days, informed Advisor to Prime Minister on Trade and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood. “ "MOC will call a consultative meeting of the stakeholders in the plastic sector. We hope that all the stakeholders will come prepared for this meeting and will provide their valuable suggestions,” informed Dawood in a tweet post.

The upcoming meeting comes at the backdrop of a meeting held in August 2020 on the 3-year Tariff Road Map, in which the Commerce Ministry was decided to start deliberations on long-term tariff policy for all sectors like plastics, engineering, pharmaceuticals, textiles, etc.

Earlier the advisor had urged Pakistani exporters to remain vigilant in order to maintain their presence in the global market as the second wave of coronavirus pandemic adds to the global economic volatility.
