ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, and briefed him on the availability of essential items in the country. The prime minister also discussed the details for introducing modern seed technology in the agricultural sector, and its importance for increasing agriculture production.
An official said the minister also briefed the prime minister about wheat procurement and about the schedule of the arrival from vessels and told him that 2.2 million tons wheat being imported by the public sector would be arriving in the country by January 2021. The new support prices and issuance price will be effective after April 2021. The prime minister emphasising the need for strict monitoring of timely availability of food items, directed to provide relief to the general public.
