The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has released a preliminary report detailing the expenditure of Rs 2 billion on the most expensive wedding in the country.

As per details, a report sent by Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office to Member Operation FBR revealed that Rs5.5 million was paid to singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Rs5 million to singer Atif Aslam during the marriage ceremony.
According to media reports, renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel has been given Rs 1 million in exchange for conducting the marriage.
Furthermore, Rs15 million was paid for the venue, Rs70 million for the décor, fireworks and mehndi, and Rs10 million for the photography and videography. The FBR is continuing to investigate whether taxes have been paid on all these expenses, while the tax payments of all those who arranged the marriage are also being investigated.
