Bullish sentiments dominated on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Tuesday and the equities maintained upward slide amid improved trading turnover due to fresh buying in select scrips. The LSE-25 index gained 23.68 points and was closed at 3650.23 against 3626.55 of Monday, while transaction volume was increased to 2.182 million shares compared with last day volume of 1.844 million shares.
The market was opened on a positive sing and kept on moving up throughout the day. The investors stayed on buying course to pick potential shares that helped market sentiments.
As a result, PPL, Pakistan Oil Fields, MCB Bank, National Bank, Askari Bank, Habib Bank, Adamjee Insurance, Lucky Cement, Nishat Mills and NetSol Technology registered gains while Engro Foods, Engro Corporation, Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim, Dawood Hercules Corporation, Dewan Farooq Motors and Byco Petroleum remained under selling pressure.
The advancing stocks were ahead of the declining ones, as out of a total of 92 active issues, 32 companies posted gains, 13 went down, while 47 companies stayed glued to their previous closing.
Pakistan Oil Fields gained Rs 5.82, MCB Bank was appreciated by Rs 4.5, Adamjee Insurance was improved by Rs 2.01, while Lucky Cement and PPL were up by Rs 1.7 and Rs 1.47, respectively.
Engro Foods lost Rs 2.03, Cherat Cement was declined by 90-paisa, while Hira Textile and Engro Corporation were down by 70-paisa each.
NIB Bank with trading of 336,500 shares topped the volume leaders followed by Bank of Punjab with 293,816 shares.
