KARACHI: On Wednesday, PKR fell against USD in both interbank and open markets going above 160 in both. It also fell by quite a margin against Euro in open market going above 190. According to reports, in global currency markets, USD rose against riskier assets as investors reassessed likelihood of further fiscal stimulus in United States.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 55 paisas for buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 160.30 and 160.40 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 70 paisas for buying and 60 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 160.40 and 160.80 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR fell by 2.50 rupees for buying and selling closing at 191.50 and 193 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 20 paisas for buying and 15 paisas for selling closing at 43.50 and 43.70 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 25 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 42.35 and 42.55 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth in the process of trading against the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Wednesday.

According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 160.30 and Rs 161.50 against the overnight closing trend of Rs 159.00 and Rs 160.50 respectively.

Similarly, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 211.50 and Rs 213.20 against Tuesday's closing rate of Rs 210.50 and Rs 212.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 50 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

The dollar opened at Rs 160.80(buying) and Rs 160.90(selling) against last rate of Rs 160.30(buying) and Rs 160.40(selling).

It closed at Rs160.80(buying) and Rs 160.90(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs109,100 (selling) and Rs109,000(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
