A 4-member delegation of World Health Organisation (WHO) led by GIDO, the country representative of WHO on Wednesday called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at C.M. House. Member National Task Force for Polio Dr Madam Azra Fazal Pechuho, Principal Secretary (acting) to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon and others were present during the meeting.
The Chief Minister welcomed the WHO delegation and informed them that Sindh Government has further informed the system for eradication of polio from Sindh province and strategic measures have been evolved at grass root level.
He said that all executing agencies, supervising departments, and implementing and monitoring teams have been directed accordingly to achieve the target while no careless or negligence will be tolerated. He said that the government has already warned that in case, any case is detected in any area; the concerned persons will be taken into task.
The Chief Minister Sindh also assured the WHO delegation that security will be ensured for WHO team engaged in polio vaccination campaign. He also expressed his deep sorrows on incident of firing at WHO vehicle on Tuesday near Sohrab Goth. He assured the WHO team that the target fixed for administering polio drops and eradication of polio from Sindh province. The leader of WHO team Gido (country representative) highlighted the efforts and results achieved in Sindh province. The WHO team included Dr Elyas Duray Polio Medical Officer Pakistan and Dr Sallah P.M.O Sindh. Meanwhile the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik called on Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at C.M House. He discussed matters of mutual interest, political situation and law and order conditions of the province.
The Chief Minister said that provincial government had made effective measures to maintain the law and order in the province particularly action being taken against criminals and Bhattakhors.
The Chief Minister informed the Advisor for Interior that majority of ministers and MPAs are complaining against non-registration of votes by NADRA and transfer of votes from one constituency to the other. The Chief Minister also discussed other matters. Rehman Malik assured that NADRA issues will be resolved soon. -PR
