Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday inaugurated the new building of Pakistan embassy in Kabul, naming it as Quaid-e-Azam Complex. The Prime Minister who is on a day-long visit to Kabul to participate in the trilateral summit, opened the new building at Karte Parwan area in presence of a large gathering of Afghan ministers and political leaders.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Advisor on Interior Rehman Malik, Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and Pakistan's ambassador to Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq were present. The Prime Minister in his address said the Quaid-e-Azam Complex in Karte Parwan was a symbol of Pakistan's affiliation with the Afghan nation. He hoped that the Pakistani ambassador and the staff at Quaid-e-Azam Complex would work for strengthening ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He expressed satisfaction over the completion of Quaid-e-Azam Complex in 14 months. He said under the Prime Minister's scholarship scheme, 20 students in Karte Parwan would be granted scholarships every year. He announced construction of a primary school and a clinic for the benefit of locals of Karte Parwan. The Prime Minister directed Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq and his team to dedicate their services for strengthening ties between the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
