Police on Thursday registered an FIR under anti-terrorism and explosives acts in a blast that hit a Rangers' vehicle other day on the complaint of paramilitary personnel. A man named Zubair was killed and four other persons, namely Ayaz, Tariq, Mushtaq, Shahla and Hasan, were injured in the blast. Three vehicle, including a vehicle of security agencies, were partially damaged.
FIR No372/12 was filed against unidentified attackers by Rangers personnel, namely Muhammad Ayub Khan, under sections 324/ 324/347, 334 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 7 of the 7Anti Terrorism Act and 3/4 of the Explosives Act. Police said that an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted along the road and it was detonated using a remote control device, adding that one kiogramme of explosive material was used in the blast. A police officials told this correspondent that ball-bearings and nuts and bolts were used to intensify the blast damage.
