ISLAMABAD: National Energy and Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA) has offered 50 percent energy audit free of cost to Captive Power Plants (CPPs) on first-come-first-served basis.
In a reminder to the companies, NEECA Managing Director Dr Sardar Moazzam has stated that it is significant to indicate that as per the directions of the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE), Petroleum Division conveyed on July 30, 2020 that NEECA has been assigned the task of conducting energy audits of gas based captive power units.
And emphasized that the advertisement for "Request for Proposal" for Energy Audits of Gas Based Captive Power Plants (CPPs) as identified by SNGPL and SSGC through private Engineering Consulting Firms was published in the newspapers on August 15, 2020.
NEECA has already communicated to share the possible date and time along with the technical information of the respective CPPs but no response in this regard has so far been received. He advised CPPs once again to indicate date and time as well as required technical information for preliminary assessment by October30, 2020. In case of non-compliance, the RLNG rates would be applied from January 1, 2021.
He maintained that conduct of Energy Audits for the CPPs is mandatory for the zero rated sectors including textile sector and the RING rates will be applicable to all the non-conforming CCPs by June 18, 2021.
