KARACHI: On Wednesday, PKR slightly strengthened against USD in both interbank and open markets despite USD going up in global currency markets on account of increased COVID-19 concerns due to new virus strain. PKR also went up against Euro in open market while remaining unchanged against AED and SR.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 160.50 and 160.60 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR went up by 5 paisas for both buying and selling over yesterday's rates closing at 160.50 and 160.70 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR went up by 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 193 and 194.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 43.60 and 43.80 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 42.30 and 42.50 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee stayed unchanged on the buying side while it depreciated its worth on the selling side in relation to the American dollar in the local currency market on Wednesday.
According to currency dealers, the dollar did not witness any change in its buying rate that firmly closed at its opening trend of Rs 160.20 whereas it gained 20 paisas for selling and ended at Rs 161.50.
Furthermore, the rupee-pound sterling parity stayed firm amid sluggish trading activity in the market. As a result, the British currency remained unchanged for buying and selling at Rs 212.40 and Rs 214.00 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs161.30(buying) and Rs 161.40(selling) against same last rate.
It closed atRs161.20(buying) and Rs 161.30(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 113,150(selling) and Rs113,000(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
