ISLAMABAD: Directorate General of Trade Organizations (DGTO), Commerce Ministry has assured the Balochistan High Court (BHC) that 15 alleged bogus Chambers and Associations will not be allowed to participate in FPCCI Elections 2021.

This was stated by Deputy Director, DGTO, Arshad Nawaz, before a Division Bench of Balochistan High Court, comprising Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Zaheer ud-Din Kakar.

Jamal ud-Din s/o Haji Ahmed and Daroo Khan s/o of Zia-ud-Din had challenged the eligibility of 15 Chambers and Associations. The counsel for the petitioners filed an amended title of the petition by arraying different trade organizations.

Arshad Nawaz, Deputy Director DGTO placed on record copy of the letter of December 14, 2020 written by Syed Masood Alam Rizvi, Secretary General FPCCI to Moin Ahmed, Deputy Director DGTO, confirming that the names of following 15 Trade Bodies have not been included in the final voters list for the forthcoming FPCCI Elections 2021:

(i) Pak-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry,(ii) Chagi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (iii) Musakhel Chamber of Commerce and Industry,(iv) Qila Saifullah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (v) Pakistan Alloy Rim Association, (vi) Submersible Pumps Importers Association, (vii) Pakistan Carbon Solvent Importers Associations, (viii) Pakistan Transport Association, (ix) Ghee Exporter Association of Pakistan, (x) Pakistan Scrap Association, (xi) Scrap Importer Association, (xii) Gas Heater Importer Association of Pakistan, (xiii) All Pakistan Copper Exporter Association, (xiv) All Pakistan Land Route Customs Agent Association and, (xv) All Pakistan Glass Manufacturer Importers and Exporters Association.

Arshad Nawaz, Deputy Director DGTO placed before the court the order Original No. 109/2020 of December 4, 2020 passed by Regulator of Trade Organizations Directorate General of Trade Organization Ministry of Commerce, Islamabad against Quetta Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Quetta District.

The order confirms that the respondents arrayed in the appeal including Sonia and Tahreen Akhtar cannot be a nominee of QWCCI Quetta District for the forthcoming FPCCI Elections 2021.

In view of the statement made by Ahmad Nawaz, Director DGTO and after going through the contents of referred letter/order, counsel for the petitioner did not press the constitution petition for the time being.

According to the order of a Division Bench of BHC, the constitution petition having not been pressed by counsel for the petitioners for the time being has been dismissed as withdrawn.

The earlier order of December 21, 2020 passed by the court in the constitution petition for fixing all the identical appeals/petitions before the court (DB) have been recalled.

The office has been directed to fix all the appeals petitions before the available Single Bench on the dates already fixed.

The copy of the order passed by the Division Bench would be filed by the office in all the appeals/petitions pending before Single Bench and these may be sent to the respondents.
