KARACHI: Upon directions of Federal Board of Revenue and Chief Collector (Balochistan) to intensify the anti-smuggling drive, Customs Check Post, Lakpass of MCC (Enforcement & Compliance), Quetta with the assistance of Frontier Corps Balochistan seized 110000 litres of smuggled Iranian origin diesel along with transporting vehicles. 60,000 letters diesel was recovered from Hino truck-trailer with container.
The staff also recovered fake transit documents showing descriptions of goods as cooking oil cans from the dashboard of vehicles which transpired that the same were being used to hoodwink the customs authorities. Container was sealed but after thorough inspection it was observed that the said sealed was unsealed earlier.
Meanwhile, Customs also recovered 50,000 kilogram betel nuts from Lakpas, Darakshan-Bolan and Nushki from trucks and LPG bowzer with the assistance of Frontier Corps.—PR
