KARACHI: On Thursday, PKR continued to gain value against USD in both interbank and open markets. It went up by the same margin as yesterday’s rate against Euro in open market while remaining unchanged against AED and SR.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 30 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday’s rates closing at 160.20 and 160.30 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR went up by 30 paisas for buying and by 20 paisas for selling over yesterday’s rates closing at 160.20 and 160.50 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR went up by 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 192.50 and 194 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 43.60 and 43.80 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 42.30 and 42.50 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee-greenback parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading activity in the local currency market on Thursday.
The greenback did not witness any change in its demand and supply situation throughout the trading session. As a result, the dollar firmly closed at its opening trend for buying and selling at Rs 160.20 and Rs 161.50 respectively, local currency dealers said.
On the other hand, the national currency drastically declined its worth in the process of trading against the pound sterling. At the close, the pound’s buying and selling rates rose from Wednesday’s closing of Rs 212.40 and Rs 214.00 to Rs 215.50 and Rs 217.00 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 30 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs161(buying) and Rs 161.10(selling) against last rate of Rs161.30(buying) and Rs 161.40(selling).
It closed at Rs161(buying) and Rs 161.10(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 112,800(selling) and Rs112,600(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
