ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Raja Farooq Haider Khan, while deploring the international community’s silence over the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir has urged the Pakistan government to adopt an effective and robust policy on Kashmir.

Addressing a seminar on the topic of UN resolution of Kashmir in connection with the right to self determination here on Wednesday, the AJK PM said that Indian expansionist designs have posed a potential threat to the world peace.

He added that Kashmiris should themselves fight the case of Kashmir as Indian occupying forces were committing crimes against humanity in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

He said the settlement of lingering Kashmir dispute was only possible in the implementation of the United Nations (UN) resolutions, and added that Kashmiris would not accept any decision against the UN resolutions.

He urged upon the United Nations to implement its agreed resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir for establishing durable and lasting peace in the region.

He said Kashmiris had been struggling for their fundamental right to self determination and would continue their struggle till the achievement of the goal of liberation.

He said Kashmiris would not accept the division of Kashmir, and added that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir would join Pakistan.

He said India was bent upon annexing Kashmir with the use of brute force but would never succeed in nefarious designs, and the Kashmiris would ultimately get their internationally-recognised right to self determination.

The prime minister said that Kashmiris had been offering matchless sacrifices and had added a new chapter of freedom history with their precious blood.

The seminar was also addressed by the Chairman Kashmir Committee, Shehryar Afridi, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Self-determination Movement-International Raja Najabat Hussain, and others.

Later, addressing the Meet the Press Program at the National Press Club, the AJK Prime Minister, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, said durable and lasting peace could not be established between India and Pakistan unless and until Kashmir issue was resolved in accordance with the implementation of the United Nations resolutions.

He said Kashmiris had linked their destiny with Pakistan and wanted a strong and stable Pakistan.

He said India had used all means of repressions to crush the freedom movement but the struggle of Kashmiri people to get liberation from India had been gaining momentum day by day.

He called for maintaining complete unity to counter the Indian propaganda on Kashmir and the Pakistan government would have to play its leading role in connection with the Kashmir issue.

He said Kashmiris had been offering tremendous sacrifices for the stability and integrity of Pakistan; therefore, solid steps were needed to apprise the world community to counter the negative propaganda by the Indian government on Kashmir.

He quoted some incidents from history to point out the fact how Kashmiri freedom struggle continued despite Indian imperialist designs.

He said that Pakistan’s new political map had been drafted on his advice, and Junagadh was added to the map on his proposal.

Haider said that Kashmir issue was debated at the European Union due to efforts by the Kashmiri diaspora and the sacrifices made by the Kashmiris. He also criticised Shimla Agreement with India in the past, saying that this had damaged our case on Kashmir dispute.

He urged media to raise Kashmir issue, saying that Pakistani media needs to highlight the sacrifices made by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said media coverage could better raise the awareness on Kashmir dispute.

He said that Hindutva regime of India was trying to establish an imperialistic rule with an expansionist agenda, and Pakistan was the only hurdle in Indian designs.

The AJK PM said Modi regime was working to create a Hindu Rashtra by annexing its neighbouring countries using its military might, and Pakistan and other regional countries must take action in that regard.

He said that stereotype policy on Kashmir was longer relevant and the State of Pakistan should adopt innovative diplomacy to raise awareness on Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Ambassador (retired) Nafees Zakaria said that the Kashmiris had led their narrative to counter fake Indian mantra on Kashmir, and there had been volumes of reports by international organisations how India had used money and resources to mislead the world on Kashmir.

He said that India stood exposed by the fact that around 9,000 mass graves had been found in the IoK.

He said that the bodies found in those mass graves were all indigenous Kashmiris who had been killed by the Indian fascist regime following its policy of occupation of Kashmir.

He said that Amnesty International had issued a report on mass blinding of Kashmiris with pellet guns used by the Indian occupying forces.

He said that mass rapes were also being used by Indian occupying forces as a tool of suppression in the IoK.
