Arslan Iftikhar Chaudhry, who was asked by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to make personal appearance on Monday to record his statement, failed to appear before the Joint Investigation Team. Notice under section 19 has been issued to him for appearance before Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on July 26, 2012. Notice has also been issued to Dr Faqir Hussain, Registrar Supreme Court, for personal appearance on July 25, 2012.
It may be mentioned that Salman Ahmed, the son-in-law of Malik Riaz Hussain and Ahmed Khalil also did not show up on Monday. In a fax message that he sent from the UK, he stated that he was receiving life threats and it was not possible for him to travel to Pakistan for the case. Salman Ahmed, however, agreed to record his statement outside the country.
