Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday published the name of Abdul Qadir Gilani as a returned candidate against the National Assembly seat for NA-151 Multan-IV.
Abdul Qadir Gilani had won the by-election held a few days back in NA-151, a National Assembly constituency that had fallen vacant due to disqualification of his father and former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. Qadir Gilani had defeated his closest competitor, an independent candidate, Shaukat Bosan with a margin of just over 4,000 votes after a tough contest.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has also published the name of A. Rehman Malik as a candidate returned elected un-opposed as a result of by-election to the Senate of Pakistan. This election was called against a seat reserved for Technocrats including Ulema from Sindh Province that had fallen vacant owing to the resignation of Rehman Malik, for the un-expired term of office, which is due to expire on March 11, 2015.
