Punjab Minister for Planning and Development Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor has said that Punjab Government was providing every possible financial relief to the general public despite of economic constraints and a network of Sastay Ramazan Bazaars has been established throughout the province for providing quality essential items to the consumers on reduced prices during the holy month of Ramazan.
He stated this while inspecting the Ramazan Bazaars at outside Iqbal Stadium and Model Bazaar Jhang road. DCO Nasim Sadiq and other officers were also present onthe occasion. The Minister said that under the instructions of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif the entire administrative machinery of Punjab government had been mobilised for the monitoring of the Sastay Ramazan Bazaars to make it more beneficial for the common man.
The minister inspected various stalls of fruits, vegetables, grocery and other items and compared the rates against general markets. He expressed his satisfaction over the reduced prices and management of Ramazan Bazaars. The Minister also met with consumers which were shopping in the bazaar and asked them about the relief of these bazaars.
The people thanked CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for elaborated arrangements of essential items in the Sastay Ramazan Bazaars on especially cheaper rates. He directed the district administration to take stern legal actions against the profiteers and hoarders of the essential commodities to overcome the negative trend of profiteering with regard to Ramazan.
The Minister appreciated the strenuous efforts of DCO Faisalabad Naseem Sadiq for successful holding of Sastay Bazaars in the district and directed the management to maintain the quality of essential items and cleanliness condition in the Ramazan Bazaars throughout the month.
He lauded the arrangements made for the senior citizens and disable persons for their help in shopping from these bazaars. The Minister visited Model Bazaar Jhang road and termed it international standard bazaar having shopping facilities including recreational facilities for the families.
DCO Nasim Sadiq briefed the minister that as many as 25 Sastay Ramazan Bazaars had been established throughout the district and special arrangements had been made for ensuring the uninterrupted supply of quality commodities in these bazaars throughout the holy month. He maintained that proper security arrangements, free parking, medical camps, complaint centres and other necessary facilities had also been provided in these bazaars including regular cleanliness in the bazaars. He informed that 55 Special Price Control Magistrates had also been mobilised in the district to check the prices in the market and profiteers had been imposed heavy fines.
