Provincial Minister for Prisons Malik Muhammad Iqbal Chunar has said that effective steps are being taken to modernize all prisons of the province. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held here on Tuesday. The minister said that the officials of prisons departments are being imparted training on pattern of elite force and the army to combat any possible act of terrorism whereas latest weaponry is also being provided to ensure protection of jails and prisoners.
Malik Muhammad Iqbal said that construction of family barracks rooms would be initiated in prisons in different phases while construction of family barracks of Multan and Lahore are also in their final stage.
